BCA'37 eNotices #13

Welcome to our 13th Newsletter.
Things have quietened down considerably on the 'events' front - at BCA'37 at least! We have a talk by Richard Graves on the Evington Hall colony at Leicester coming up next week, which promises to be a fascinating evening.

Simon Martinez is becoming increasingly involved in the running and activities of the association and has had a very busy time organising and participating in the very successful recent events in Keighley, Edinburgh and Montrose.

I am involved in two school visits; one in Maidstone in Kent and the other in Cheltenham. These school visits tend to be carried out in the background and are not usually reported as they are not open to the public, but they are a very valuable way of educating and informing younger generations about the horrors of war, which are still with us, and how humanely and generously the British public often in the school’s own neighbourhood, responded to the plight of the children evacuated to Great Britain in 1937. Of course, we draw parallels with situations today.

Bienvenido a nuestro 13º Boletín.
Las cosas se han calmado considerablemente en el frente de los 'eventos' - al menos en BCA'37! Tenemos una charla de Richard Graves sobre la colonia Evington Hall en Leicester la próxima semana, que promete ser una noche fascinante.

Simon Martinez se está involucrando cada vez más en las actividades de la asociación y ha estado muy ocupado organizando y participando en los eventos recientes de Keighley, Edimburgo y Montrose.

Por mi parte yo estoy ocupada con dos visitas escolares; uno a Maidstone en Kent y el otro a Cheltenham. Estas visitas escolares suelen llevarse a cabo en segundo plano y generalmente no se informan ya que no están abiertas al público, pero son una forma muy valiosa de educar e informar a las generaciones más jóvenes sobre los horrores de la guerra, que todavía están con nosotros, y cuán compasivamente y generosamente el público británico, a menudo en el vecindario de la escuela, respondió al apuro de los niños evacuados a Gran Bretaña en 1937. Claro, llamamos la atención a paralelos hoy en día.
